Harbor Fish and Chips in Oceanside

The food and condiments were delicious for the price. 16.00 for the 2 piece fish basket with fries. The amount of food that you get is adequate for the prices. A little too much breading on the fish and minimal amount of fries was given this visit. Masks were worn by the employees. Overall I highly recommend this place if you visit the harbor.

This place is fantastic!! Fast service for such a busy place. The pieces of fish are a fantastic portion size! Nothing better than fish and chips by the ocean in that wonderful salt air. I love it. I will be back everytime o am there!

Fantastic food and service, Harbor Fish & Chips takes care of the customer, is a great value, and can't beat the location.

It looked delicious, but tasted disgusting. The worst fried fish I have ever had. It was super greasy and had zero flavor. We tried salt, malt vinegar and tartar sauce and nothing made it better! Sad to say, but Long John Silver’s is much better than this over priced tasteless fish. And now all of our tummies are sour. The slaw was okay - at least that part had some flavor. The fries were soft and soggy. $70 for 5 plates of bland food and we will never be back. I’m embarrassed I took our guests here.

Food was just ok... ordered fish tacos and fries. Fish was not seasoned at all. At leaste some salt and pepper guys, come on! And if you are selling tacos, how about having salsa to go with it.

My family and I have been coming here for years! The prices are great, the service fast and eating right on the water with boats and fresh air, peaceful. My high school 2020 granddaughter graduate and her boyfriend will be coming here for lunch and walk soon . By the way, 2020 grads, we love you and great work!!

Absolutely amazing! Fish and chips are a must-try. Each fresh fish serving comes in huge portions (one is usually enough) and deliciously breaded as are their jumbo shrimp. The signature cocktail sauce and tartar sauce are legendary. Grilled (not breaded) fish is a delicious and healthier option. Several sides to choose from; the house cole slaw is one of our favorites. Ambiance is classic whether eating inside surrounded by a large display of many varieties of actual fish on the walls or outside on the boardwalk overlooking the marina. A staple of Oceanside for decades and still keeping the family recipes. Our family has made this a tradition every time we are in the area. Yum!

It's been awhile since I had some food fish and chips, I've been craving them since I got to ocean side. 😋It was very delicious by the way and very filling.

Nestled amongst the harbor shops with a peaceful view and Great fish and chips. It seems pricy but its really not - one Captain's Special is enough for 2. They are adhering to Covid safety measures.

Love the ambience, and to enjoy lunch sitting outside is a big plus. I like the “check in” availability that get us a little pricing discount. The food is good but a tad greasy, that’s what keeps us from visiting more often. Nice destination for out of town visitors.

We were told by many locals that this was the place for fish and chips. Food was great as well as Frank helping us through the menu. We had grilled fish and the combo plate.

Best fish fry in Oceanside hands down. Fillets are large and if you walk away hungry it's your own fault. My husband and I enjoy visiting the harbor and always make it a point to stop here when we go.

I just started working here! The restaurant was established in 1967 by my boss Sherri's grandmother. I am loving being back to work and hearing how grateful they are to be able to come back out and eat at their favorite restaurant. I run all day long which without me saying that the food is amazing!Have you ever had fried Pineapple, yummy!A lot of people think that Fish and Chips might be too greasy for them. Well, you can get a wonderful grilled Atlantic Cod and Coleslaw or beans instead of the wonderful deep fried fish and chips. If you are coming out as a family and one of your members doesn't eat fish, we have burgers and corn dogs. Back to the sea food shrimp, calamari, clams. The size of each piece of fish is epic . One piece, 2 & 3.

Fish Taco with coleslaw taste great! Just one makes a meal. The server and chef are very generous and friendly. It takes orders just like the way in Tender greens, that is, order, self-service for the tableware, sauce, etc., then call by number to pick up the plate. So, should tip just like the way we do in Tender Greens. Also nice atmosphere and great harbor view. Two thumbs up!

Really tasty food for a fair price. I had clam chowder here. Compared to a more upscale expensive joint in the Coronado area, this place had much better chowder and it was cheaper. I would recommend the fish and chips as well, great for sharing. They are massive so you might not need more than one or two fish if dining alone. If I'm ever back in Oceanside I'll probably stop by here again, friendly staff and great seafood overall.

The lightest, crispest, most tasty fried fish I have every found. So fresh and light. Cute and funky space right on the water. With indoor, outdoors covered and fresh air seating. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Love this spot! My moms been taking me there since i was born...46 years ago, and its my favorite. Been a lot of places and had fish and chips but this is my go to period. And its in the best city in the country! Can't go wrong with any of their food . Sorry no pics it all got ate too fast 😁

Every time I’m in Oceanside I make a mandatory stop here for their two piece fish and chips...I swear they go and catch it from the ocean after I order. Fantastic place but you have to navigate a lot to find it. Totally worth the adventure.

One of the freshest, crunchiest, tastiest fried fish I've had in awhile. The batter was light even though it was oily. The jumbo shrimp had the same batter and was fresh. This place was a good find in Oceanside harbor. Their homemade cole slaw was so good, not too sweet nor not too much mayo. The clam chowder was really tasty and fresh. The fries were just normal.

Waited for our #27 to be called. For a really long time. 30s and 40s came and went, thinking I missed it but knowing I didn’t- went in and was told it hasn’t been called yet. Waited more. Went in again, was told the numbers don’t get called in order. Waited more. 50s?!! Time I will never get back. Called on the phone, asked where #27 is, Jocelyn put me on hold. Came back said “you do know this is harbor fish and chips?” X2.. Duh! Told her I’ve been waiting a long time, she said I didn’t come in. They don’t have a #27 order. I told her yea I did. She accused me of taking the ticket order. No I didn’t. Jocelyn said come in and hung up. Gave her my receipt. She handed me my $31.00 back but not my change. No apologies, rude and impatient. Tried to initially blame me for their bad service. Jocelyn is the reason we will never be coming back. Ever. Ulgh!

Good customer service. The food was great. The inside has awesome decorations that kids really love. Has seating outside right by the water an boats too. The fried pineapple rings were not that great to us but some people might find them amazing. Overall I'd recommend it to try it at least once if your in the area.

Food was expensive and I got. Heatburn. They were cleaning after and before there guest ..which is very important ..We didn't have to wait for a table.Mask to be worn .😊

Family Favorite for generations!My grandmother took my mom and her siblings, they took us and we take our kids. Always fresh and delicious and was really nice to sit at the harbor and get outside after being inside for so long

They make the best fish and chips ever!! I've been a returning customer for decades and will continue when we visit the Oceanside area. Fast, friendly service. Seafood is fresh & cooked when ordered. Nothing fancy about this place, with inside/outside dining and views of Oceanside Harbor! If you're not a fan of seafood, I heard their chicken is good too.

Loved the local restaurant with the cool history. I recommend the fish (why else would you visit a fish and chips place?) Will be back yhe next time we are in Oceanside.

Best fish n chips in all of oceanside, everything is good there u won't be disappointed

Today's visit was disappointing and not up to the usual standard I have come to enjoy when visiting Harbor Fish and Chips. One piece of my fish was mostly batter with no fish, and it was over-cooked and greasy. The second piece had more fish but again, over-cooked and greasy. I'll give them another chance, hoping that today was just a bad day.

Nice location. The shrimp was amazing. The fish and the chowder were excellent. Even the fries and coleslaw were good. I'll be back.

Favorite was staying close and ate twice in 1 week. Will drive here if anywhere in area. Everyone I've referred there alsoLoves it.
